Explosive knittings

Found an old Elle in the thriftstore with a picture of her work. I needed to do an Internet search. And now, see me lying at the end of the street.. No worry, no hurt. It's just that I've been blown away by the explosive work of Sandra Backlund. Her knitting designs are so magnificent, so fibrent, hugh. I love it all.

false rewarding

So everything is broke. Coffeemachine, sewingmachine and car. But I already had a priority for other new machines. My laptop is really, really old and the system got stuck multiple times a day. Something that is really frustrating me for a long time but also something I can't have when the shop is open. So first a new laptop. But my cellphone was even older and in the future I need to be able to check my mail and the shop everywhere, so now I have a smartphone and a wifi Ipad.

A new laptop, a smartphone and a Ipad. I feel like the Queen with all this new, hightech machines. Although.. I'm happy that I have systems that are working. A laptop that goes fast and is able to multitask. A phone that can do more then just make a call. But I'm totally not pleased with the fact that I'm such a computer idiot!! I have to copy my mail to the new laptop.. After a week, I finally did it but when I start the old laptop.. all mail on the new laptop is gone! Get my mail on the Ipad? Not working. Make a digital agenda? Figured it out but to get it on three systems??? Grrrr... I spend days now figuring it all out and it feels like the clock is running and I'm still at the start.

To motivate myself, and keep on figuring it all out, I 'reward' myself if I make a step. For example, if I manage to export my mail to the new laptop, I allow myself to crochet one ball. So you think.. Mmmhh, lots of balls, that is going well. No, you're wrong. My mail exports back to the old laptop by itself!! Agenda on the Ipad? Worked but all appointments are in there, three times. So the jar of balls should be empty.. Poor, nerdy me!

photography

At the moment I'm working on the photography of the website. Everywhere. In a house, a church, this weekend yet another space. Here's a sneak peak of a set vintage clothing. I love to see that the steps I'm taking are getting 'visual' (this afternoon I saw the first impressions of the logo, website, webshop.. ohhhhh so good!!) and I love to do the photography..

(And although it's a bit (okay, not a bit but a lot) of putting my head in the sand.. I find myself lucky to work on the photography. It means I don't have to worry (now) about a broken coffeemachine, a broken sewingmachine and now a broken car too..)

Simple Solution

Imagine.. You have an addiction. A heavy coffee addiction. Saturday evening, you're late home and exhausted. Sunday morning. You allow yourself to lie-in bed untill about 10 am. You get up and are pretty happy with such long sleep. Like always, with a sleepy head... you take a straight walk to the coffee machine and then it breaks!!! NOOOOOO!!! You think: I must be sleeping! And this is a nightmare! You pinch yourself but too bad, this is real. Then you can't do anything else but figure out a solution.
You find a little strainer, you make a filter from two piece a toiletpaper which you lie in the strainer. Coffee in it, pour boiled over it and tadaa, coffee! Your day can start...

Six hours later..... my sewing machine breaks!! Again!! And although I can figure out a way to make coffee without a machine, I won't be able to that with my sewingmachine. Need to find another solution here.
