Found the felt work of Brigit Daamen and it's beautiful. So precious, the linings are perfect, the ideas behind her designs are great and so smart. See her bracelet which can be cut up in six parts and leaves this bright coloring inside. Beautiful.

ANTI-stress blanket

I guess this is a bettere way too cocoon.. hahaha! At least for a baby. Because this is becoming a simple, larger baby blanket. I have to work on two or three more rows then make a finishing edge and it will be done.

I think this blanket will be named as the 'liset's anti-stress' blanket because this one definitely had the task to keep me calm in the last week. As you know I'm setting up my own label and I believe in a good, thorough preparation. Over 80% of the self-employed are bankrupt within one or two years after starting and that's mostly because of bad preparation. I won't say that I will make it but I wanna do everything to prevent bankruptcy because of a bad preparation.

When I went to the bank with my first businessplan, they were pretty excited. With some conditions I could get a business loan right away. How happy I was, that also made a light burn in my head. No questions? No feedback? No nothing?
So I guess I like the hard way.. hahaha.. and went to other banks and financial companies. And here I found someone that had questions, and a lot of feedback. Real good feedback! He believes in my work, he believes in me as a entrepeneur and he believes in my plan but wanted me to look deeper into some points. So I started to work on every point of criticism. That meant I had a lot of re-thinking, a lot of re-writing and re-calculations to do. And now, after again a few weeks, I'm so done with that. So, so done with it. You can't imagine. Thankfully I'm almost ready!! I have a coach now and he's a great help and motivator. So a few more meetings with him to set the dotts on the i and then finally.. no more calculations, or paperwork, but start and work my ass off with 'doing' instead of calculating/writing/thinking. And it's not that I can start now, I still have my job in the next months but no more paperwork, please!!

So the blanket is definitely a anti-stress thing. When I don't want to think, I set the button in my head and just crochet..

Catches (re-made)

Small but big catches on yesterday's fleamarket. It was a really small market, just a few stalls. But I found this great knitted children's sweater. It has no label but I recognize it as a Didi sweater. Love the colors, love the pattern but definitly too small.

So as you can see, I turned it into a skirt. Cut out a good shape, made a big, broad from an old t-shirt and included some elastic. I think I will make a inner lining but maybe not. Time will tell.

As said, a few but large catches. I love my new 'skirt' and this is my second big catch. Love this retro hair dressing set. I bought it from a sweet, old lady, (in her eighties and still amazing long hair, beautiful wrapped up. so very sofistacated.) who was the user in the sixties. Had a lovely chat with her.

And my third catch is an old military suit (no pictures). Pants and two jackets but I'm working on that one. I have some ideas with that one and I already started, so that one is already ripped open.

Blue grey purple textile necklace

I'm in a bit of a hurry.. Finished up a new necklace in blue, purple and grey, this morning. It's a smashing necklace with only felted and mohair crocheted balls. And now I'm heading off to a small fleamarket here in the neighbourhood. Hope to score some good stuff, so I'm out otherwise all good is gone. If I'll score, I'll show you! Enjoy your SUNday!

- Little Z already wrote it, but here the same, I played the flute for eight years, when I was a child.

Red and white

Hope you had a good weekend! Here it was a good weekend. Still a bit recovering from the fact that I resigned my job as a teacher officialy... Which is a very good decision and I'm completly happy with it. It means a new start, my business is getting more and more shape and at the end of the year I have to be started. On the other hand (the recovering hand, haha..) new starts also means ending something. And I loved, loved the teaching job. My students, the classes were good and I'm definitely going to miss some things about it. But I have a three months notice so I still have time to adjust..

Meanwhile I finished up a warm chunky, crocheted neckwarmer in red and white. It's a real warm, funky wrap! It's about 150 cm wide and about 70 cm long (from the middle down), made with a really soft acryl/wool yarn and it's going into the etsy shop.

If I would be able to choose..

I didn't had any wishes for my birtday. Although, I guess I have a lot of wishes but I can't make any decision. I buy magazines every month so a description would be nice, I hate navigation systems in a car but I could use one and I have a big stack of English and Japanese books on my wishlist. And if I could choose something from Etsy, I gues these would be some favorites...

Free birthday weekend

I was a bit busy the last couple of days but mostly I was busy with having a weekend. It was my first free weekend since six weeks and because it was my birthday too (and my dad's birtday too)I just enjoyed the free time. Doing nothing at all isn't my thing so I started some crochet work but ran out of yarn, so before I can continue I have to buy some extra balls.

Gifts, part two

It's definitely a ' spoil lisette' week! I won the give away at little-z and I received a bag with all these lovely goodies! Beautiful cards, a pretty, pretty phone stamp and some real nice labels. What more can someone wish for? All so beautiful and too much. Thank you so much, little-z!

Last Tuesday I had a lovely meeting with a lovely, lovely woman who brought me all these great gifts. Which wasn't the deal (that I would receive so much loveliness!) but how happy I am. And these pictures I'll show here, are just a part of all the gifts I received.
I love this great, great, great retro sleepingbag, a handmade cup and (wow!) a towel with my name. My name is pretty difficult for all these standard named products in stores and mostly my name isn't included. So how great to have a towel with my name!
