Fabrics and Stained Glass

I had a party at some friends in Tilburg, yesterday. And because I have a adress for old textiles in that neigbourhood, I stopped by here today. Found these sweet, vintage fabric nightdresses. Love the fabric!! And I have this great idea with this fabric but I don't have my sewingmachine here! Grrr.. So I have to be patience. For a few days because tomorrow I'm heading over to Friesland for a short holiday. Hope the weather will be fine..

Oh, and I met a great guy on the party. He has started his own company in desiging and making stained glass. I went to his atelier to see his work. Beautiful designs and beautiful work! Catches and cars

I traded in my car!! I feel like a queen with my new, old second hand station wagon. In short, my little Ford Ka had to go before it wasn't good anymore and I really needed car with more space, since I'm going to set up my business. I carry a lot around!! So I won't gonna show you any pictures of 'before' and 'after' (haha) because cars are so not that important. But let me tell you that going from a Ford Ka, to a Ford Escort station wagon feels so hugh! I feel like a queen behind the wheel. Four (!!) doors, love how all the locks opens and closes with my key, I have airco (probably not going to use it but hey, I have that), my window goes electric (the other one is brooke but hey, one is working!!).. and again it's hugh!! Never had all these extra's and space. So I feel pretty rich today.


And off course that needed a first drive! And it drives perfect.. I just hope that all those people around me stop staring at me and wonder why this little girl drives in such a big car!!?? ;-) And hope that it doesn't have all this hidden problems.. Thumbs crossed!
So I combined some work today with a visit to the triftstore and did some good catches. Found that great retro orange woven tabelcloth. For me, a lovely pink flowered skirt. And a set of these perfect retro drinking glasses. Love the tree motif on them! Maybe good for some inspiration for the stamp makers?? These glasses will go in the webshop but later. I need to save and keep items to use for the photograpy of the website/shop. A lot of thinking, working and preperation is going on there. The concept is still getting more concrete and all gets more and more shape.

Winnars and sleepers

See her sleeping.. I have these two vintage cushions on the couch and she always find here place here. So sweet. And while she's sleeping here head off, I picked two winnars for two give aways. Mittens

It was a pretty, pretty busy week here and I'm afraid next week will be so too. But I don't complain!! It's just that I don't have much time to work on (new) designs, it's all about taking care of the financies for the business, talking to other companies and suppliers and today I really need to sell my car and buy a new (second hand) one. So there's no time to create and after a week I miss that so much.

Yesterday, when I didn't had the time, I took (a little, little bit of) time!! As you know I'm working on my Pure line. A collection of items made out of recycled wool blankets (and sometimes wool sweaters too). With some scraps of blankets and sweaters, I made these children's mittens. They definitely need some fine tuning in shape and size but I really like the way they turned out. Will definitely come in the collection! Maybe with a 'sheepskin-like' lining in it... And iff everything goes like it's going now, I hope to open the website and webshop in January. So don't buy your childrens mittens any earlier.. ;-)

Oh and I know, the give away! Envelops, wrapping and all is lying here but I still need to pick a winnar. Hope to do that tomorrow!!

Brooche

Working on these colorful crocheted with felt brooche(s). I like the shape, the colors but the cotton is too big. So I will experiment further on with thinner cotton. But I guess there will be no much creativity today. I need my thumbs to cross! So excited for the WK final tonight! Enjoy it all!!!!

New balls in progress

So I said, if we winn from Brasil, I won't have just one give away but TWO. And you know what..
a) We won!!! From Brasil! How great, great is that!
b) I like/love to give presents, so one more is only better.
c) And sitting in the evening sun with a good glas of wine and some crochet isn't a punishment at all..

Mixed materials necklace

Feel better again! Thanks for your sweet thoughts and wishes.. I'm afraid it probably was a food poisoning because we had a bbq last Saturday and my sister and brother-in-law got sick too. And they started to feel sick on Sunday too with the same troubles. So be aware you all food, bbq's and this hot weather! But anyhow, I'm back again!

Almost finished up this new necklace for the shop. I had this one in mind for a long time but I needed time to make the best material/color/technique mix. It has handfelted balls, crocheted balls from mohair wool and stone beads, all on a ribbon. I'm still searching for the best way to close it and I think I have it, but no time today!

(Had hair up to my shoulder.. was so done with it and cut it off last week.. here is the 'out of bed look' but I can go flat, or very neatly.. personally I love the 'out of bed' look. I like hair that's messy!)
