Saterday catches

There is this big secondhand store but it's only open for a few hours on the last Saterday of the month. Last month they were closed because of New Year, so I was really looking forward to go today. When I woke up I wasn't expecting a layer of snow... But I needed to go! Still coughing and sneezing, a bad road but as stubborn as I am, I went. I realllllyyy didn't like the drive but I got there save! And I'm back save with lots a great catches! So here are a lot of pictures..

... I never found a good can to keep the 'ontbijtkoek'.. that's a dutch kind of gingerbread.. Found this can!!! .. so happy!.. because I already have the same can for the rusk (beschuit)...

.. the one on the top is a retro tablesheet (about 130 x 130 cm) and the blue one is a vintage bedsheet (about 2 times 120 x 190 cm) .. love the patterns in both.. I'm adding these to the shop..

Roller coaster and a 'Yummie Tummy' vase

I guess I'm at that point now for having self-pity. For over two weeks now I have some kind of flew that goes up and down. It's a kind of roller coaster I'm in which gets me from dizzy, into tired, to belly pain, a headache, to couching, no voice and then to normal... And when you think it's staying normal, and you are at the end, the damn thing goes again and you're headed to a looping all over again!! I'm so hoping for the end of the ride, and I can get out of the wagon!



A few weeks ago I finished a new flowervase cover. I picked out a fresh colourcombination. Heavy pink, blue and red combined with soft tones. It's a big one! And by that, I mean that I wanted it to fit around a normal sized glass jar, so I went a little nuts on the 'belly' size. It turned out to be a ball belly! And I like it a lot! It's a kind of cute, I guess. So it's name is 'Yummie Tummy'. And it's in the shop.

Experiment/Design in progress

Inspired by bunting made by children. You know, the colored strokes of paper formed to cirkels, chained together. It's not what I want it to be yet.. but I like the principle of the design. Now I want to work on the size, the way to chain and the material.

Having self-pity very soon

Djeehh, I have a cold/flew which isn't very cool. For over a week now I have so little energy, I'm sneezing my head of and coughing my lungs out. I really hope that it's going away soon because I'm getting some self-pity by now.
This morning I needed to get out (yes I was out!!!) for some curtain rings. The ones you can click in the fabric. I hope that's going to work because I never used these before. Off course I'll show you the result (when it worked.. hihi) when I'm done. The store was near a thriftstore and I did some great catches for myself. That has to keep the self-pity away..

Something new, something old..

Thank you for you sweet reactions on me being sick! That made me feel a lot better already! My lungs are getting better and I'm sneezing less. It's just too bad that the headache isn't going away. And I'm not the type of 'eating' medicine. So I'm just patience and keeping myself calm, so it wil get away soon.

I did finish up two pencil cases. See the button? I crocheted around a normal button so it's all matching. I like that! They are in the shop now.
Meanwhile I finally received my new crochet book (at the bottom) 'Crochet Motifs' but I'm not that content. The patterns aren't that nice, I think. But that's my taste. I like my vintage books more! I always check for these in thriftstores and really, these are older then I am. The patterns below are from 1971. Here are some favorites... See the crocheted pants??

Rudolf the Rednoise Reindeer

This is how far I came.. I have sewn one pencil case together but didn't even get to make a button on it. And I have more pencil cases lying here to sew together, like this one, and finish up with a button but for the last couple of days I'm only able to sneeze, to cough and to blow my nose. Really my nose! I feel like Rudolf the Rednose Reindeer. My head feels heavy and my lungs are burning. I think I am, or getting a bit sick here. So I haven't got so much energy and lying on the couch is my major business now. So the pencil cases aren't finished yet and won't be in the shop this weekend, like I wanted. That's going to be this week. Sorry!

Short update

Short update! It's been a busy week here. As in the last weeks.. Sorry, bad blogger at the moment but I'll make it up! I know it's going to be better with time in the next weeks. But here's a sneak preview of a new crochet project. And it's going to be a big, colorful project.
Also I'm finishing up some 'Color your own life' pencil cases for the shop. I made some adjustments in the first design and now their almost ready. Hope to have them finished in the weekend.

Shop update

I had a weird week. Not going to bug you with it (and I'm not complaining, we don't always have 'best weeks'). I gues I was a bit like the weather at the moment, very volatile (wisselvallig). Then snow, then some sun, then it's freezing and then it's raining again. And a mood like this for a week is exhausting. But now it's weekend and I found more peace in mind.

I'm updating the 'shop' with a new handmade hat. And some real, vintage retro tabelware! I found these retro cake plates and a set of 3 retro coffee cups and saucers. And all of these are for sale in the shop.

Handmade pants from Vermiljoen

I am so happy!!! I got this great handmade pants from Vermiljoen. And I love it! And the weird thing was, that she mailed me about the pants and explained how it look like. And you know, you make your own image.. My image was exactly the same as the pants is. Bright blue and I'm in love with the red line! Thank you so much Lien!!!
And I know.. the pictures suck. I tried yesterday and thought it wasn't my photography-day but today is the same. I can't get a better shot. So imagine that in 'real life' it's a much more prettier pants than on camera. But please see on the Vermiljoen blog. She already made a new one, and has great pictures. (and then buy some great fabrics from her store and make one yourself!)

Name?

Finished up this new patchwork baby blanket in the holiday. Lovely, warm project to work on while it's snowing outside and I'm a bit bumped that it's finished. So I gues I'm going to start on a new one (in different colors then).

But before I get to another one.. About this one: It's a fresh and happy blanket made with 100% cotton in the colors (2) pink, (2) blue, grey, white, red and lilac. The size is about 60 x 100 cm. I always name my items but I can't figure out a name for this one. So if you have a suggestion? Feel welcome! And if you wanna buy this one, check the shop.
